My name is Juan Carlos and I am 17 years old.  I just came to ÉXODO on February 2005 after living in another institution for several years.

Before I came to live in  ÉXODO Home, I lived with my parents and siblings in a very poor area of El Salvador.  They both had mental problems, and my dad used to drink a lot and do bad things to my older sisters.  Because of this, the government took us away and separated my siblings and me into different institutions.

I miss my mother very much, but I know she is very sick and lives in a rehabilitation center with my baby sister.

I like being at ÉXODO because I was able to meet my older sister, Berta for the first time and younger sister Dolores.  I also like riding bikes and playing on the computer.  When I grow up I want to be a Business Administrator.

Juan Carlos did not even know that his older sister Berta existed before coming to ÉXODO.  They had been living only 30 minutes apart for six years!
