My name is Jenifer Gabriela, but everyone calls me Gabriela. My father was an alcoholic and my mother left us a long time ago. When I grow up I want to be a social worker.

Take a moment. Think beyond the daily circumstances of life. Look past all that sits in front of you and imagine the life of another, the life of a child who lives in harsh conditions and faces such issues that put ours into perspective.

Maybe this child’s name is Leoncio and he is living, without parents, in the mountains of Peru. Leoncio must struggle for basic needs like education, medicine and the security of tomorrow – all things that most American children never have to think about.  However, he has an advantage over the 6.5 million children in Peru who live in poverty; Leoncio has the protection and care of a place of hope called Centro de Esperanza.

Centro de Esperanza is one of many places of hope in the international community that are funded and supported by Places of Hope International. Places of Hope International is an organization committed to providing support and assistance to children all over the world. Our collaborative work with our international partners is changing lives. We are seeing transformed lives that are transforming the lives of others. We are changing communities, reaching nations and impacting the world.

The work of Places of Hope International focuses on abandoned and abused children. We strive to provide the children with a stable, loving home that carries forth a plan of hope through a Christ based relationship with God. Your one-time gift or monthly sponsorship will impact people all over the world. Your gift can change lives. This is your opportunity to give a handful of hope.

“You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself ”
– Matthew 22:36-39
